What products does the Khoy Textile Weaving Unit produce?

The weaving unit of Khoy Textile Factories operates in a 12,000-square-meter space and, utilizing advanced machinery and high production capacity, is able to produce various types of fabric in widths ranging from 220 to 360 centimeters.

This unit produces up to 70,000 square meters of fabric per day in diverse designs and materials, including jeans and Pakoyi fabrics, meeting a significant portion of domestic and export market demands.

Product Technical Description

What is Pakoyi fabric, and what are its features?

Pakoyi fabric is one of the best-selling and most widely used products of Khoy Textile Factory, made from a blend of cotton and polyester fibers. This clever combination brings together the advantages of both types of fibers: cotton for softness and breathability, and polyester for durability, color stability, and resistance to wrinkles and abrasion.

Pakoyi fabrics produced at Khoy Textiles are woven using modern European weaving machines in various widths up to 360 centimeters and are available in a wide range of designs and densities. Due to their high strength, excellent dyeability, and durability against washing, these fabrics are widely used for making uniforms, office wear, school uniforms, industrial fabrics, and bedding.

Finishing and processing stages of fabric in the Indigo section

After the weaving stage is completed, the raw fabrics are transferred to the Indigo-Finishing section, where the final refinement and true quality of the fabric come into shape. Here, with the use of advanced finishing machines such as:

  • The stenter machine for adjusting the width and fixing the dimensions
  • Raising machine for creating a soft and gentle surface
  • Brushing system to enhance the softness and appearance of the fabric
  • Stretch-shrink machine for controlling stretch and shrinkage

Precise finishing processes are performed on the fabrics so that the final product achieves international standards in terms of softness, brightness, uniform texture, and color stability. This ensures that Khoy’s fabrics—especially Pakoyi and denim—with export-quality and excellent durability, enter the market and are considered a reliable and recognized choice among clothing manufacturers.

About the Business

Khoy Textile Factories

Address:
  • Tehran Central Office: Iran, Tehran, Dr. Beheshti Street, between Vezara and Bokharest streets, No. 283, Negin Azadi Building, 8th Floor, Western Unit
  • Factory: Iran, West Azerbaijan, 20th kilometer of Khoy-Marand Road

From Idea to Production: The Bright Journey of Khoi Textile Factory

Khoi Textile Factories (Public Joint Stock Company) was established in 1984 with investment from the Bank of Industry and Mines, at the heart of one of the most important industrial hubs in northwest Iran. The aim of founding this complex was to create a fully integrated textile manufacturing plant with an annual capacity of 4,300 tons of yarn and over 10 million meters of finished fabric (apparel, denim, shirting, etc.), as well as generating jobs for about 1,000 skilled workers.

The factory’s geographic location is one of its key strategic advantages. Khoi Textile is situated about 150 kilometers from the centers of West and East Azerbaijan provinces and is accessible in less than two hours by car. In addition, land and air access from Tehran via Tabriz and Urmia routes can be made in less than four hours.

Exceptional Export Position

The factory’s proximity to international borders has greatly facilitated export routes:

  • 120 kilometers to the Bazargan border
  • 60 kilometers to the Jolfa border
  • 65 kilometers by road and 90 kilometers by rail to the Razi border (direct connection to Van, Turkey)

This exceptional geographic location has turned Khoi Textile into one of the key players in exporting fabrics and yarns from Iran to neighboring countries.

The Journey of Establishing the Khoi Textile Factory

In the 1990s, with a 34 million Deutsche Mark foreign finance facility, some of the most advanced spinning and weaving machinery from leading Swiss and German brands was purchased and imported. The process of shipping, customs clearance, and installation began in 1992 and was completed by 1994. Thereafter, trial production and then mass production commenced. The spinning department officially started in November 1994 and, in September 1995, was officially inaugurated in full operation by then-president Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani. Additionally, as part of ongoing development, with the purchase of 180 weaving machines from Ghadir Factory, the weaving department was launched in 1997 and integrated into the production cycle.

In Which Direction is the Denim Fabric Project Progressing?

The study and implementation of the denim fabric production project began in 1998 and came into operation in June 2002. This project involved installing the most advanced European equipment from renowned brands such as:

  • Indigo machine by SUCKER MULLER, Germany
  • Fabric finishing machine by MONFORTS, Germany
  • Direct warping and special denim quality control equipment

This project marked a turning point in expanding the factory’s output and its more prominent presence in export markets.

What Are the Main Production Units?

  • Spinning Preparations:
Includes opening, carding, filter plant, and open-end machines, all made in Switzerland and Germany.
  •  Ring Line:
Three active ring machines capable of producing slub and core yarns, with full line expansion planned in the near future.
  •  Doubling Unit:
Equipped with 12 VOLKMAN and SAURER machines, with a daily capacity of producing 5 tons of two-ply yarn.
  •  Bobbin Dyeing:
Capable of daily dyeing of 3 tons of 100% cotton and blended yarns.
  •  Weaving:
Equipped with modern P7100, P7150, ITEMA, and PICANOL machines, an upgrade plan is in place for replacing old devices and enhancing production quality.

Production Chain to Fabric Dyeing in the Indigo Unit

In the weaving preparation department, a collection of section warping machines and sizing systems from Germany is in operation and plays a key role in preparing yarns for the weaving process. The installation of a state-of-the-art sizing machine made in Germany in 2008 is underway, which, once operational, will greatly enhance the capacity and accuracy of this section. Alongside these machines, the indigo unit, using modern dyeing technologies, enables the production of denim fabrics in various colors, especially navy and black—fabrics that, in terms of quality, colorfastness, and texture, can compete with international samples and have elevated the position of domestic textile production.

Industrial Status and Economic Role of Khoi Textile

Khoi Textile Factory is recognized not only as one of the largest industrial plants in the northwest of the country but also as a central driver of the economy in West Azerbaijan province and the Khoi region. Since its establishment, the factory has created direct employment for hundreds of skilled workers and indirect employment for hundreds more in areas such as logistics, raw material supply, technical services, and commerce, playing a vital role in sustainable regional development.

Relying on up-to-date European technology and several decades of industrial experience, the factory has established itself as one of the reputable suppliers of high-quality fabrics in both domestic and international markets. The ongoing export of products to countries such as Turkey, Armenia, Iraq, and Russia demonstrates the company’s strong competitive standing internationally. In addition, through collaborations with local universities and technical centers, Khoi Textile, as a key industrial unit, plays an effective role in human resource training and promoting the technical expertise of Iran’s textile industry.
